Van Jensen

Van Jensen, born Jens Van Nieuwenborgh in 1982, is a Belgian pop/rock singer, composer and pianist. He joined Passiano Records in June 2008 and became our first flagship artist.

“My passion for music started when my parents bought me a tiny keyboard for Christmas when I was six years old. When they noticed me playing back songs from the radio on this little instrument, they figured it might be a good idea to send me to music academy. I remember arriving at my first piano lesson with a broken right arm, much to the delight of my teacher who had to find me some special one-handed exercises. Throughout the years, I did well as a student, but I was never passionate about interpreting other people’s work. That’s why I started composing. I wrote my first song at the age of twelve and recorded my first demo album in 2002.”

Van Jensen currently resides in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he is preparing his second LP “Summer in Boston” to be released with Passiano Records in 2009.
